  • Automated robot cell: DRILLTEQ V-310 with FEEDBOT at Ravensberger Holz

Ravensberger Holz is a company with a long tradition. In 1908, the East Westphalian company was the first timber merchant in the region to sell not only solid wood, but also plywood. The fourth generation of owners, in the person of Dr. Christian Brinkkötter, also has the courage to try out new things. In addition to panels, doors, frames and solid wood, the timber merchant now also offers prefabricated furniture for joineries – via an online shop with an integrated furniture planner. The furniture designed there is transferred directly to a processing center.

Conscious decision in favor of an automated robot cell.

This processing center is the DRILLTEQ V-310 with FEEDBOT D-310 – for several reasons: limited space, focus on automation, and good experience with HOMAG technology and service. The Raumwunder was therefore able to score points with its maximum carcase processing yet minimum space requirements.

Carcasses for joineries.

The business uses the machine primarily for processing carcasses and fronts, but also for the flexible customization of doors. In practice, the advantages of the cell are particularly evident in the good process integration of the robot: it can be operated directly via the processing center without its own control system and programming.

The practical result: all employees were able to use the machine in a very short space of time. In addition, the DRILLTEQ processes unwieldy parts that can be up to three meters in size – without any personnel. Two employees would otherwise have to stand next to the machine and then tow it along with difficulty.

“Simply set up, select the program, close the cell and off you go.”

Dr. Christian Brinkkötter, Managing Director Ravensberger Holz

Ravensberger Holz GmbH & Co. KG

Ravensberger Holz was founded in 1908 by Gustav Brinkkötter in Bielefeld. At that time, the company supplied not only solid wood but also plywood to local joineries.

Even today, panel materials, especially plywood, are an important focus for the timber merchant. In addition to panels, doors, frames and solid wood, the Ravensberger Holz product range now also includes prefabricated furniture for joineries.
